BC UndocuCenter Celebrates Undocumented Student Action Week

The fifth annual Undocumented Student Action Week began Monday, Oct. 18, 2021 and is a yearly  statewide effort led by the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office (CCCCO). At a local level, the Butte College UndocuCenter celebrated with a week of events centered around effectively assisting the undocumented student population.

The Butte College UndocuCenter prepared events for faculty and staff throughout the week, including the Undocu-Ally Training sessions, which equip staff and faculty with the tools and knowledge to aid this special population. The week also featured a learning session at a statewide level from California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office which will include presentations from Butte College Dean Brad Zuniga, and Student Success Specialist Aldo Cruz Vazquez.

Tuesday, Oct. 19 - “Undocu-Ally Training for Butte College Staff”

Tuesday, Oct. 19 - “Undocu-Ally Training for Butte College Faculty”

Wednesday, Oct - “Preparing Undocumented High School Students for College”

Thursday, Oct. 21 - “Identifying and Serving Undocumented Students, Purposeful Support Efforts for Butte College Success Specialists and Retention Specialists” (Closed session)

Thursday, Oct. 21 - “USAW Systemwide Webinar: Effectively Using Data in a Complex Environment”
