Butte College is proud to announce its second annual Big Time event on Thursday, March 28, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the main campus in Oroville, California. This social gathering in celebration of Native American people and cultures will feature a variety of cultural experiences, including California feather dancers, a drum group, craft and jewelry vendors, food, traditional games and an electrifying performance by Supaman.

Supaman, an award-winning hip-hop artist and member of the Apsaalooke Nation known for his fusion of traditional Native American music and contemporary rap, will return for a second year. His unique style and message of hope and resilience have earned him a large following, and his performance is sure to be a highlight of the event.

In addition to the entertainment, visitors will have the opportunity to shop from a selection of craft and jewelry vendors, offering unique and authentic pieces. Food will be available for purchase, including Indian tacos, strawberry frybread and Rez dogs.

The Butte College Native American Center organized the event along with a cross-departmental team from student services.

"It's important that we put these events on so that Native people have a place at these institutions," said Frankie Medrano, Native American Center Supervisor. “Last year’s event was just the beginning and we are excited to welcome our inter-tribal community back for an even bigger event.”

The Big Time is free to attend and family-friendly. It will be a wonderful opportunity to learn and connect with our Native American Center, local tribes and Butte College.
